Casement Windows

Casement Windows are energy efficient and secure, ideal for tight spaces. Casement windows also include a convenient handle that folds inwardly when not in use. These windows have multiple points where locks are placed, meaning an airtight seal can be established to shut out cold weather and secure against thefts. You simply unfold the handle with casement windows and crank it counterclockwise to open smoothly

Bay Windows

Bay Windows are ideal for those who love having a complete view of their back or front yard. A bay window is different from a bow window (while they both provide excellent views) and is most noticeable by the three edges that jut outwardly at 45 or 90 degrees. These are an addition to any home and provide ample interior space where you can add window seats, drapes, a nook, accent chairs, or anything to add more comfort and vibrancy.

Awning Windows

Awning windows are great for getting fresh air on a rainy day. They are hinged at the top and open from the bottom, which means you can get ventilation without rain coming through the opening. Awning windows are another type which provides a handle for convenient opening and closing depending on your preference. They are a versatile option, great for any weather condition, and offer better energy efficiency than hung and slider windows using the same materials. Many individuals opt to use awning windows for bathrooms and kitchens. With a low vertical height, they can be placed higher on wall surfaces, meaning more privacy and security.

Bow Windows

Similar to Bay windows, you’ll get a beautiful view of the outdoors with a Bow window. If you have a garden in your front or back yard or enjoy “people watching,” then Bow windows are a stylish option. With additional natural light through these large windows, you’ll invite plenty of Vitamin D, and your home’s aesthetic appeal will undoubtedly improve with all of that sunlight! These windows are also more customizable than other types when it comes to their height and the different levels of “lite” (separately framed panes of glass). Bow windows can be fixed (shut) or configured to include different operating lites to allow openings.

Double-hung Windows

Also known as “double-sash windows,” these are the cousin to Single Hung windows but provide additional ventilation due to the ability to open both “sashes.” These are superior to Single Hung windows due to airflow because heat rises and escapes through the top sash while cooler air can circulate through the lower sash. This “breathability” makes Double hung windows an excellent option for two-story homes.

Single-hung Windows

Single Hung windows provide ventilation through the bottom “sash,” which is the only moveable part of this window. The top portion remains stationary. Single-hung windows are typically at a lower price and are great for energy efficiency and security.

Double Slider Windows

Double Slider windows are great for ventilation and airflow with two chambers. They also have an interlocking system and a much smaller opening space. These are excellent for security due to the small opening space, and many people opt for double slider windows in their bathrooms for ventilation properties while maintaining privacy.

Single Slider Windows

Single Slider windows are a classic option with a multi-chamber design that slides smoothly to open and close. Overall strength and energy efficiency are very high. They also have interior latches to open the sash for easy exterior cleaning from inside your home. Weep holes within the frame as a high-tech draining system with weather strips for air and water tightness.

End Vent Slider Windows

With a single fixed sash in the centre, this window is another quality option for ventilation properties. A single sliding window is adjacent on either side of the fixed window. These large windows provide ample natural sunlight for any room, with cross ventilation from the two single slider windows. End vent slider windows are a great option if you’d like a large viewing area and natural light but do not necessarily have the required space for a bay or bow window.

Fixed Casement Windows

You’ll get a clear view of your front or back yard with fixed casement windows and superior airtightness and insulation. These types of windows are completely stationary and do not open at all. While this type of window does not provide ventilation, it is a superior window choice for the winter months to keep out the cold while maintaining an exterior view. With noise reduction or thermal efficiency options, you can select your optimal thickness for the insulation glass.

Picture Windows

Similar to Fixed casement windows, Picture windows provide a clear and unobstructed view of the outdoors. Without ventilation, there are no airflow benefits; however, this means that your energy efficiency is maximized. You can opt for specialty grid patterns on this type of window, such as a Colonial grid or French grid, for highly stylish accent pieces that look great from the interior and exterior view of your home.

Tilt and Turn Windows

Tilt and turn windows are highly versatile, and as their name suggests, homeowners can “tilt” or “turn” the window to open it and provide plenty of ventilation and airflow. The window sash can be set to swing open (inwardly) for a fresh breath of air. If you simply wish to provide ventilation, you can opt for “tilting” the window inwardly, where a small opening is made at the top of the window to keep the elements out while allowing air to flow in and out of your home.
